The jungle canopy did not whisper when Season 4 of Call of Duty: Mobile arrived. It clattered with compasses, boots, and the distant pop of RC-XD engines. Treasure hunters sprinted through overgrown routes, each one chasing a rumor of gold, and every match became a small adventure with a price attached. In 2026, veterans still describe the Fool’s Gold season as one of the game’s most theatrical treasure hunts — a moment when Call of Duty: Mobile turned loot into a story. fools-gold-a-call-of-duty-mobile-treasure-hunt-remembered-in-2026-image-0

The season launched on April 17 at 5 PM PT, and its centerpiece was the Fool’s Gold Battle Pass. Free tiers handed players the MG42 LMG, a rapid-fire weapon with a high ammo capacity that was built for suppressing groups. The RC-XD Scorestreak also waited in the free track, giving one player control of a remote car that exploded on collision. Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Vault Coins, and other rewards filled the rest of the free path. 💰

Premium tiers told a louder story. Operator Skins such as Zoe — Jungle Diva, David Mason — Ruin Ranger, Sims — Gunner, and Strongarm — Floral Fatality turned the battlefield into a fashion parade for adventurers. Weapon Blueprints followed the same theme: FR.556 — Unburied Treasure, CX-9 — Glorious Plumage, Arctic .50 — Jungle Maw, LK24 — Envenomed, and the MG42 — Rubble Maker. A Battle Pass Subscription added monthly rewards, a 10% boost to Player and Weapon XP, discount coupons, and limited discounts on 10x crate pulls. Ground Forces rewards included the D-Day — Bushranger Operator Skin, the Holger 26 — Serpent’s Gold, and the Backpack — Serpent’s Gold. fools-gold-a-call-of-duty-mobile-treasure-hunt-remembered-in-2026-image-1

Multiplayer changed shape with Dropkick. Two teams fought over a single briefcase marked on the map. Picking it up started the score clock. The carrier could use only a pistol or the briefcase as a melee weapon, and Scorestreaks, consumables, and the Operator Skill were locked away. The carrier’s position was broadcast to everyone, so hiding was never an option. Defenders had to stay close, because fallen Operators on the defending team did not respawn until the briefcase was dropped. The first team to reach the target score won. It was chaos with a rulebook, and that was the point. fools-gold-a-call-of-duty-mobile-treasure-hunt-remembered-in-2026-image-2

A new Basic Setting under the MP Mode tab let players toggle allied health bars. Sliders for Health Bar Size and Health Bar Transparency made the display easy to read without covering the action. The update was small, but it changed how teams watched one another in a firefight.

The Tropical Escapade themed event sent players into Multiplayer and Battle Royale to earn compasses. Those compasses uncovered relics and rewards, and route choice mattered. The new Challenge HQ gathered Seasonal, Featured, Daily, Weekly, and Themed Events into a cleaner interface. Challenge Tokens could be spent in the Exchange, so players chose which items to unlock first. 🗺️ fools-gold-a-call-of-duty-mobile-treasure-hunt-remembered-in-2026-image-3

World Champs 2024 added a competitive spine to the season. Open Solo Qualifiers began on April 18, and Open Team Qualifiers ran from May 11 to 25. Scoring depended on rank and win/loss ratio. The Snapdragon Pro Series and Mobile Challenge Season started in June with a $125,000 prize pool and 128 teams. The Top 8 moved on, then fought through the Mobile Challenge Season and Finals for a place in the World Championship Finals. Those finals ran from October 4 through 6 with a $1 million prize pool. 🏆

The Call of Duty Endowment Regulator Pack brought Splicer, the Endowment’s first female operator, into the game on May 6. The pack included the Splicer Operator, an ORV Vehicle Skin called Digital Distortion, Swordfish and Fennec Blueprints with the same name, a Calling Card, an Avatar, a Charm, and a Sticker. Its purpose reached beyond cosmetics: 100% of net proceeds supported the Endowment’s mission of placing unemployed and underemployed veterans in the U.S. and U.K. into high-quality jobs.

The Store added a Mythic Draw featuring Witch Warden — Final Siege and a Mythic MG42 — The Campaign. The weapon carried an animated miniature battlefield across its body, and its selection screen played a unique song by Hans Zimmer. Eliminations intensified its flame and smoke effects, while its Death Effect set enemies aflame before they evaporated into smoke. Klepto — Ageless Sands and HBRA3 — Lucid Sands offered an eastern-inspired treasure hunter look. Synaptic — Ancient Guardian and SKS — Watcher brought a robotic Operator with animal pauldrons and bright feathers. The Battle Pass Vault also returned the Season 1 2021: New Order content. 🎧 fools-gold-a-call-of-duty-mobile-treasure-hunt-remembered-in-2026-image-4

By 2026, Fool’s Gold reads like a time capsule: a season that asked players to risk everything for the most prized possessions, then gave them a briefcase, a compass, and a mythic weapon to do it. The treasure hunters have moved on, but the story still glitters.
