Activision has officially lifted the curtain on the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2026, revealing a revamped structure, massive prize incentives, and a return to the multi-stage format that first captivated millions in 2021. Sony, once again the presenting partner, confirms its sponsorship alongside the rollout of dedicated in-game events that kick off on June 4, 2026.
The competitive landscape for Call of Duty: Mobile continues to thrive globally, and this year’s edition builds directly on the momentum of previous championships. With a staggering $3 million USD prize pool—up from $2 million in 2021—the tournament opens its doors to every eligible ranked player across North America, Europe, Latin America, Japan, South Asia and the Middle East.
“We’ve watched the COD Mobile community grow into one of the most passionate esports audiences in the world,” said Matt Lewis, vice president of mobile at Activision. “This year we’re increasing both the prize money and the number of teams that can qualify, giving more players a genuine shot at becoming world champions.”

Road to the Finals: Stage-by-Stage Breakdown
Stage 1: Solo Play (June 4 – June 28, 2026)
The journey to the global finals begins with individual effort. Players simply open Call of Duty Mobile, tap the World Championship 2026 button in the ranked multiplayer lobby, accept the official rules, and sign up. From there, every ranked match contributes points. Higher individual rank translates to more points per victory.
During any one of the four weekends, gamers need to score 60 points across 10 qualifying ranked matches to unlock an Epic weapon blueprint. Four distinct blueprints rotate each weekend: the M4LMG – Playmaker, QXR – Playmaker, M16 – Playmaker, and RUS-79U – Playmaker. Additionally, anyone who registers and plays 10 ranked matches during all four weekends earns the exclusive Manta Ray – 2026 MVP operator, designed in collaboration with community icons Hawksnest, iFerg, and Bobby Plays.

Stage 2: Team Play (July 2026)
All players who reach the 60-point threshold in any qualifying weekend move on to Stage 2. An in-game inbox message notifies eligible participants, who must then build or join a squad of five or six members. This roster is locked for the entire stage. Teams play up to 30 ranked matches, with points awarded based on average player rank. Securing a top-256 finish in select regions guarantees progression to Stage 3.
Rewards in this phase include the Locus – Playmaker blueprint for completing five team matches, the AS VAL – Playmaker after 10 wins, and the Merc 5 – 2026 Champ operator—again co-designed with community creators—after finishing all 30 matches.

Stage 3: Regional Qualifiers (August 2026)
While exact dates remain under wraps, Stage 3 filters the competition even further. Teams battle through group and bracket play within their home region. Only the strongest survive to reach the regional playoffs.
Stage 4: Regional Playoffs & Broadcasts (September 2026)
By this point, each of the five major regions—North America, Europe, Latin America, Japan, and South Asia & Middle East—will have its top eight squads. They clash in a double-elimination bracket: win and stay in the winners’ bracket, lose once and drop to elimination, lose twice and exit. The last team standing from every region then advances to the World Championship Finals.
Fans can catch all the action live on the official COD Mobile Esports YouTube channel. Multi-language streams will be available for English, Arabic, Japanese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and French audiences. Moreover, viewers who tune in via the in-game live tab can earn exclusive viewership rewards, including weapon XP tokens and cosmetic items.

Finals and Prize Distribution
Teams that conquer the regional playoffs will travel to the global LAN event, where they face off for the title of world champion and a lion’s share of the $3 million prize pool. The top 256 teams in each region during Stage 2 already receive 1,000 CP for their effort, but the real riches await later stages.
Official Device: Xperia 5 VI
Sony’s latest powerhouse, the Xperia 5 VI, has been selected as the official mobile device for the tournament. Engineered to deliver a fluid 120 FPS gaming experience, it promises to give competitors every possible advantage in high-stakes multiplayer battles.
